Project activities
Preparation and realization of the exhibition of paintings by Mila Doleželová and Jiří Mareš
The painter bequeathed her work to the Czech Dominican Province with the wish that her monumental paintings with religious and Romani themes remain accessible to the public, preferably in Telč. After a series of negotiations, an agreement was reached on the long-term loan of the entire estate, including the works of her husband Jiří Mareš, including around 190 paintings and drawings, to the administration of Masaryk University.
The creation of a permanent exhibition and the fulfilment of Míla Doleželová's wishes is almost within reach.
The exhibition will be opened in spring 2023.
Making the cultural monument accessible to the visually, physically and hearing impaired
Of course, the whole range of planned activities will also be accessible to the disabled. One of the important ambitions of the project is to create an open community centre in the existing site, which will be accessible to all without discrimination.
Series of educational and cultural events
Within the framework of activities aimed at leading to a common intercultural dialogue, events are being prepared including seminars and workshops on Roma art and music.
During the music workshop, participants will, for example, get acquainted with Roma songs or try to set to music motifs from Míla Doleželová's paintings. Under the guidance of the lecturer and leading Romani artist Josef Feč, the music workshop will be concluded with a joint concert of the participants.
